Two Officers Honored Statewide for DUI Enforcement

Two Allentown police officers rank tops in the state in DUI arrests!

Officers Scott Snyder and Craig Berger have been honored by the Pennsylvania DUI Association with the 2015 DUI Top Gun Award. The awards were announced at the association’s annual conference held in State College, PA. The awards are given to law enforcement officers who demonstrate a commitment to DUI enforcement.

Officers Snyder and Berger were among 45 troopers and 21 municipal police officers honored. Officers Snyder and Berger ranked #1 and #2 in the state respectively, with 116 and 107 DUI arrests. Officer Berger has been recognized as a Top Gun Award recipient for the past five years.

“Keeping our streets safe by removing offenders who drive under the influence is a priority for the Allentown Police Department” said Allentown Police Chief Keith Morris. “Every year, hundreds of people die on the roads of Pennsylvania in alcohol related crashes. The efforts of Officer Snyder and Officer Berger make it very clear that they are dedicated to eliminating this serious problem and they are very deserving of this high honor.”

“I congratulate officers Snyder and Berger for a job well done,” said Mayor Ed Pawlowski. “Ranking number one and two in the state is an outstanding achievement. They are to be commended for their role in improving safety on our city streets.”

The honorees each received their own portable Intoximeter breath-test equipment to further aid them in future DUI apprehensions.

The Pennsylvania DUI Association is a professional organization which works to address the DUI problem in all of its many stages — from prevention to enforcement up to, and including, adjudication and rehabilitation.
