Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski will be in Racine, Wisconsin Monday night to make a presentation to City Council on downtown development.
Racine is considering construction of a $40 million, 3,800 seat downtown arena with an attached 135-room hotel. The arena could host a junior hockey team. Pawlowski has been invited by Racine Mayor John Dickert to detail how the PPL Center and attached Renaissance Hotel have impacted Allentown.
The PPL Center was the start of $1 billion in new investment in Allentown.
A study done by a Chicago-based firm found the proposed Racine facility could have a dramatic impact on downtown business growth, sustainability and quality of life.
