The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation is postponing the scheduled Friday, July 27 presentation of “The Santa Clause” at Cedar Beach Park at 101 N Ott Street until Saturday night, July 28 due to the inclement weather forecast. "The Santa Clause" is the next installment of the 2018 Movies in the Park series.
“After he accidently kills a man in a Santa suit on Christmas Eve, divorced dad Scott (Tim Allen) and his son (Eric Lloyd) are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa’s place before the next Christmas arrives. Scott thinks he’s dreaming, but over the next several months he gains weight and grows an inexplicably white beard. Maybe that night at the North Pole wasn’t a dream after all—and maybe Scott has a lot of work to do.”
The approximately 97-minute movie is rated PG-13 and will begin at dusk (approximately 8:45pm).
The Cedar Beach Pool concession stand will be open for food sales with various refreshments, including hot dogs, nachos, soft pretzels, ice cream and various drinks.
Macaroni Kid Allentown will be on site with free craft activities and handouts.
In case of inclement weather, please call the Recreation Inclement Weather Hotline at 610-437-7750 after office hours, or visit us on Facebook for postponement information at www.facebook.com/allentownparkandrec.
